Many thanks to the 170 people who listened and contributed to our session at Greenbelt Festival last weekend – and apologies to the 50+ who weren’t able to get in because the venue was full.

The session went really well – with those attending adding helpful insights and wisdom as we considered how we can all live out our faith with integrity while the ‘gay debate’ rages on.

We were delighted to speak with so many of you afterwards – LGB and straight, ordained and lay, pro-gay, anti-gay, unsure – and hope the session provided a helpful step in your journeys.

Living It Out features in Christian women’s magazine Magnet as part of their autumn issue on the theme of survival.

Magnet started out as a Methodist magazine and now aims to reach a wider audience. It’s well known for tackling tough issues in a down to earth and sensitive way.

As part of a special feature in Christian magazine Third Way on trends to look out for in the coming decade, we share our thoughts on the future of the family and suggest how churches can respond to changes in family life.

If you fancy exploring not just the future for the family, but also for the economy, the environment, feminism and more, you do have to be a Third Way subscriber – although there are online tasters here. There are also usually a few free copies floating around at Greenbelt….

Preparing for Greenbelt…

Having clocked up nearly 30 Greenbelts between us, Greenbelt 2010 is going to be the first one we are speakers at! We’re just putting the final touches to our session: 5pm on Sunday in the Sovereign Lounge. It’s going to be a bit different to previous ‘Living It Out’ talks. Here’s the blurb:

Most of us know lesbian, gay and bisexual people. And for many, these relationships have made us take a different look at God and church. The authors of ‘Living It Out’ share personal experiences, spiritual wisdom and practical advice for anyone who has wondered how they can live out their faith with integrity while the ‘gay debate’ rages on.

Living It Out goes to Greenbelt

We are absolutely thrilled to have been booked to speak at Greenbelt Festival during the August Bank Holiday weekend. With 21,000 people camping at the Festival, we’re hoping to get a big (if not so clean!) audience!

We’ll be speaking in the Sovereign Lounge venue at 5pm on Sunday. The focus will be on how we can all get on with our faith despite the high-profile disagreements about the place of LGB people in God’s kingdom.

We hope to follow the session with a book signing, and would love to see you at both/either!

How do attitudes change?

Last night we talked to Changing Attitude London & Southwark – an incredibly friendly and welcoming bunch!

We were delighted to fine that many attendees had already read Living It Out, and found it helpful. We focused on how attitudes change, and included examples from Living It Out of the emotional, spiritual and often difficult journeys that individuals and organisations may find themselves on.

An engaging discussion followed, and was continued after the meeting in the pub…

Living It Out meets Changing Attitude

You are warmly welcome to join us on Wednesday 9 June when we speak to the London and Southwark Changing Attitude group at the famous St. Martin-in-the-Fields church in central London.

The group welcomes visitors. You’re invited to eat together with regular attendees in the crypt café at 5.30pm if you’re feeling extra-sociable, before we talk at 6.30pm in the Desmond Tutu Room (suggested donation £3 to cover costs).

You can even catch some music afterwards in the crypt café from 8pm, with Latin American music from Riamba! The organisers tell us that you can book Riamba tickets at here; £5.50 unreserved or £9.00 reserved seating.
