About the book
Living It Out is a survival guide written by lesbian, gay and bisexual Christians, our families, friends and allies. It’s essential reading for anyone interested in LGB issues and Christianity.
More than fifty people have shared their stories and advice in the book, providing living proof that it is possible to be a Christian and engage with LGB issues without falling apart. It may not be an easy journey, but it can be a liberating and exciting one.
You’ll find the full list of contributors here – a marvellous mix of straight and LGB people; men and women; young, old and inbetween.
Living It Out is for you, whether or not you’re lesbian, gay, bisexual or a Christian yourself.
Perhaps you’re a Christian parent whose understanding of the world was turned upside down when your child came out as gay. Or a straight Christian whose faith has found new directions through sharing experiences with LGB friends.
Perhaps you’re a minister wondering how to best support LGB people your congregation, or a teacher or psychotherapist unsure how to relate to LGB young people in your class or wanting to know more background to your client’s experiences.
Living It Out talks honestly and openly about all of these issues, as well as about God, church life, the Bible, LGB people in ministry, dating and marriage and much more, see our full list of chapters.
And, of course, you can see for yourself by buying your own copy of Living It Out here.
